How does the SensorsCostume work?
Five tiltsensors serve MONSTERFRAU to control music effects and a sampler with her full body movements.
Each tiltsensor sends information about the x, y and z axis to the main platine on her back. On the main platine the data is processed into midi and sent wireless to the computer.
Within the computer the midi data is again processed by a Max.msp-Patch. Midi messages and movement control may be configured here. The configurations may be stored as presets.
The Max.msp-Patch sends the processed midi data to the Digital Audio Workstation Ableton Live.
To ensure good performance and to provide CPU from overload, the tiltsensors‘ data is gated within the Max.msp-Patch. A midifighter serves to open and close these gates.
